During the meeting, Bilawal Bhutto said that they would work together for the strengthening of democracy and parliament, adding that the 26th Constitutional Amendment would be effective in blocking the way for undemocratic powers.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the credit for the approval of the 26th Amendment goes to all the coalition parties. He added that they have not backed down from public service before and will not back down now.

It should be noted that a few days ago, the government had approved the 26th Constitutional Amendment in both the National Assembly and the Senate, with the support of JUI, while opposition parties expressed reservations.
