ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared the approval of the 26th Constitutional Amendment as historic and decided to introduce the 27th Constitutional Amendment. In this regard, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, will also be taken into confidence.
As per report by a private TV channel, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore.
He was accompanied by former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, while the Prime Minister’s advisor, Rana Sanaullah, and Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, were also present in Model Town.

During the meeting, Bilawal Bhutto said that they would work together for the strengthening of democracy and parliament, adding that the 26th Constitutional Amendment would be effective in blocking the way for undemocratic powers.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the credit for the approval of the 26th Amendment goes to all the coalition parties. He added that they have not backed down from public service before and will not back down now.
It should be noted that a few days ago, the government had approved the 26th Constitutional Amendment in both the National Assembly and the Senate, with the support of JUI, while opposition parties expressed reservations.
