Dr. Zakir Naik arrives in Islamabad on special invitation from Pakistan govt

ISLAMABAD: On the special invitation of the Government of Pakistan, renowned scholar and preacher of Islam Dr. Zakir Naik has reached Islamabad, where he was welcomed by government officials and the passengers present at the airport.

Upon arrival at Islamabad Airport, Prime Minister’s Youth Program Head Rana Mashood and Secretary of Religious Affairs Dr. Atta Rehman warmly welcomed Dr. Zakir Naik.

Dr. Zakir Naik, a well-known Islamic scholar of Indian origin based in Malaysia, announced his visit to Pakistan along with Sheikh Faruk Naik.

According to the schedule on his official X account, Dr. Zakir Naik will address various gatherings on October 5-6 in Karachi, October 12-13 in Lahore, and October 19-20 in Islamabad.

The social media post stated that Dr. Zakir Naik’s sermons will also be telecast live on the religious TV channel Peace TV. He has titled his gatherings as “Peace Talks.”

He had also announced a visit to Pakistan in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he had to postpone his program.

Speaking in a recent online program, Dr. Zakir Naik said that he has received many requests and invitations from people in different cities of Pakistan, but due to a lack of time, it is not possible to accept all of them.

“We will select some of these important universities. We have selected one university, which is the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Islamabad.” It should be noted that Dr. Zakir Naik will also address a gathering on October 19 at Jinnah Sports Complex in Islamabad.

According to Dr. Zakir Naik, he has received the most invitations from Pakistan in the last several decades. “After all, this is my first official visit to Pakistan. Before that, I went to Pakistan to meet Dr. Israr Ahmed in 1991. It was my long dream to come to Pakistan.
