SHEIKHUPURA: At least five members of the same family were killed and another was injured when a vehicle collided with their motorcycle late Monday night in Farooqabad city near Pandour village, Sheikhupura, As per media report.
Rescue 1122 officials stated that the incident occurred due to speeding. They reported that the deceased included a father, two sons, and two daughters, while the injured girl was the man’s niece.
According to the report, the speeding vehicle hit the six people riding the ill-fated motorcycle. The victims were traveling from Amar Sadhu to the Gujjar Pura area of Lahore to meet their relatives on Eid ul Azha 2024.
The rescue officials transported the bodies and the injured to the hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively.
High fatalities in road accidents are common due to poor driving skills, lack of safety measures, not wearing seatbelts, and derelict road infrastructure. Buses and trucks are often filled beyond their capacities with passengers, which also causes vehicles to overturn.
