ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, urged concerted action to address economic challenges, environmental concerns, social welfare, and population growth.
Speaking at the 7th Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit, he thanked the organizers and highlighted the summit’s role in promoting dialogue among business leaders. Gillani commended the summit for its constructive approach to tackling key challenges and devising strategies for economic progress.
He also discussed security challenges, stressing the need for regional stability and global efforts to resolve conflicts threatening national security. Gillani emphasized the importance of policy shifts to stimulate economic growth, advocating for collaboration between government and business leaders.
Additionally, he addressed environmental issues, calling for sustainable practices and public awareness to combat climate change. Gillani emphasized the significance of social welfare programs such as the Benazir Income Support Program and efficient resource allocation for social safety nets.
He urged action on population growth to ensure social stability, endorsing population welfare and family planning initiatives. Gillani praised the organizers for convening the summit and facilitating meaningful discussions on the nation’s critical issues.
