LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared on Saturday that the air ambulance service is set to commence operations in June following the initiation of training sessions for the service.
Announcing via X, formerly known as Twitter, the Punjab chief minister stated that the training session for Pakistan’s inaugural air ambulance service has been initiated.
“The air ambulance project in Punjab has been completed in record time,” Maryam Nawaz remarked.
Maryam Nawaz, the first female Chief Minister of Punjab, had previously announced the launch of the ambulance service in her inaugural address at the Punjab Assembly, indicating it would be operational within weeks.
As part of this initiative, the plan is to initially acquire two aircraft on lease. These ambulances will be outfitted to transport doctors, paramedics, and essential medical equipment, as well as life-saving medicines.
The aircraft are specifically designed to operate from short runways and will possess the capability to land and take off from national highways and motorways.
