LAHORE: In adherence to her firm stance against corruption and bribery, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced on Saturday her decision to convene a “special court martial” targeting corrupt individuals within the police department.
During a special meeting on Saturday, CM Maryam assessed the overall law and order situation in the province.
A statement released subsequent to the meeting outlined the provincial government’s plans to implement a “special audit system” aimed at identifying corrupt and unprofessional police personnel.

The CM instructed rigorous measures to eradicate the illegal arms culture in Punjab, including measures to prevent kite flying and the use of metal wire for such activities.
She underscored her government’s primary responsibility for the protection of every citizen of Punjab, emphasizing the provision of modern weaponry, vehicles, night vision equipment, and drones to the police.
She stressed the necessity of taking effective action for the permanent eradication of terrorism, smuggling, and criminal gangs.
