LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced on Friday the forthcoming launch of an air ambulance service within the province.

This decision was made during her leadership of a meeting regarding the Air Ambulance Project in Lahore. Maryam further sanctioned the utilization of her office’s helicopter for emergency patient transfers, with the aim of enhancing medical response particularly in remote regions.

The meeting, attended by senior provincial figures including Maryam Aurangzeb, Pervaiz Rashid, Khawaja Salman Rafiq, and Khawaja Imran Nazir among others, highlighted the importance of timely patient transportation to hospitals, especially in areas where accessibility poses challenges.

Additionally, Maryam revealed plans to introduce the Rescue 1122 service on motorways. In her inaugural address following her election as the province’s chief executive, Maryam outlined her ambitious vision for Punjab’s development over the next five years, promising a “new era.”

In her extensive victory speech, she also pledged to prioritize improvements in healthcare, education, employment, and housing for the people of the province.
