PISHIN: A devastating explosion tore through an election office in PB-47 constituency of Khanozai in Pishin district on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 individuals and injuring 30 others.
Levies sources confirmed the attack, which targeted the election office belonging to former provincial minister Asfandyar Khan Kakar.
Casualties and Rescue Efforts: Initial reports indicate eight fatalities and 10 injuries of varying degrees. Rescue teams are actively working to transfer the deceased and wounded to Pishin DHQ Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Target and Motive: The precise target of the explosion is yet to be determined. While it occurred at Asfandyar Kakar’s election office, investigations are required to ascertain if he was the intended target or if the attack was aimed at disrupting the upcoming general elections.
According to the Khanozai assistant commissioner speaking to a private TV channel, the explosive material was attached to a motorcycle.
