ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has highlighted the proactive role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in attracting investors from Gulf nations, notably Qatar, to explore opportunities in pivotal sectors of Pakistan’s economy.
During a meeting with Qatar’s Ambassador, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, on Thursday, Kakar emphasized the robust and fraternal relationship between Pakistan and Qatar.
He expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in broadening bilateral cooperation across various domains, with a specific focus on enhancing trade and investment. Kakar also conveyed warm regards to Qatar’s Amir.
Underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, Kakar mentioned the SIFC’s active efforts to engage investors from Gulf nations, including Qatar, encouraging the ambassador to explore potential collaboration in tourism and media sectors.
The Prime Minister lauded Qatar’s diplomatic role, particularly in contributing to a temporary ceasefire in Gaza. He stressed the imperative for collective international efforts, especially within the Muslim Ummah, to foster peace in Palestine.
In recognition of Ambassador Al-Khater’s initial meeting since assuming office and presenting credentials in November, Kakar congratulated him and expressed hope for the continued strengthening of bilateral ties during his tenure as the Ambassador of Qatar in Pakistan.
