LAHORE/KARACHI: The return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ignited discussions between the PML-N and the MQM-P as political parties vie for power in anticipation of the elections.
MQM-P Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui declared on Monday that his party’s representatives are slated to meet with Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif in the near future.
Formal communications between Dr. Siddiqui and Shehbaz Sharif recently commenced following Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan. Both parties have deliberated on the potential of future cooperation, and a top-level delegation from MQM-P is anticipated to meet with the PML-N leader in the upcoming days.
Dr. Siddiqui disclosed that he has already engaged in four conversations with Shehbaz since Nawaz’s reentry into the political arena, aiming to rejuvenate his party’s waning prospects.
The impending meeting will address crucial matters, including seat adjustments for the forthcoming elections.
He emphasized the constructive working relationship between MQM and PML-N, underscoring that the latter has been their “final political partner.”
Both parties are eager to explore collaborative opportunities and are resolute in seeking common ground, he further noted.
