PESHAWAR/ CHITRAL: Terrorists attacked two army posts on the Pak-Afghan border in the Kalash area of Chitral, during which four brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), a large number of terrorists attacked military posts with modern weapons. The security forces responded effectively and timely to the terrorists, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists.

According to ISPR, the security forces repulsed the attack and inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists. In the exchange of fire, four soldiers were martyred, and twelve terrorists were killed, with a large number of them seriously injured.

ISPR states that the Afghan Interim Government was promptly informed about the movement of terrorists in the Afghan provinces of Nuristan and Kunar. It is hoped that the Afghan Interim Government will fulfill its responsibilities and prevent its territory from being used for terrorist activities against Pakistan.

According to ISPR, Pakistan’s security forces are committed to eradicating terrorism, and such sacrifices of army personnel strengthen our resolve.

ISPR also mentioned that the check posts were already on alert due to a threat alert, and a clearance operation is being conducted in the area to eliminate potential terrorists.

Caretaker Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the border posts in Chitral. He praised the army personnel for bravely and courageously facing the terrorist attacks and repelling them. He said that the nation pays homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s protection.

Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif also strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Pakistan-Afghan border in Chitral. He paid tribute to the four martyred Pakistani soldiers and described the attack by terrorists armed with modern weapons from Afghanistan on an Islamic brotherhood country as regrettable, condemnable, and alarming.

Shahbaz Sharif demanded that the Afghan government rein in the terrorists and adhere to its international commitments according to Islamic teachings. He emphasized that the entire Pakistani nation stands with its sons in the jihad of Pakistan’s forces against terrorists, considering the protection of every inch of Pakistan as part of their faith.

The former Prime Minister further mentioned that Pakistan has always extended assistance to Afghanistan in the most challenging situations and has hosted Afghan refugees for forty years. It is disheartening that terrorists are launching attacks from Afghanistan against an Islamic country that has consistently supported the Afghan people.
