ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Police has promoted 240 officers to the next posts.
As per report, a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Board was held under the chairmanship of DIG Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer.
The Promotion Board recommended the promotion of 2 Inspectors, 20 Sub-Inspectors, 55 ASIs, and 65 Head Constables to the next posts.
The board for the promotion of Constable to Head Constable was chaired by AIG Logistics Shoaib Masood.
According to the notification, the board recommended the promotion of 98 Constables to the rank of Head Constable.
IG Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi has said that promotion is the fundamental right of every officer, and a large number of promotions will boost the morale of the officers.

Meanwhile, the Dolphin Squad of Islamabad Police arrested 3 snatchers red-handed and recovered weapons and a motorcycle. The spokesperson for Islamabad Police said that the accused tried to escape after committing the crime, but Dolphin personnel on patrol chased them and made the arrest.
The accused include Ayan, Abdul Ahad alias Hadi, and Hassan Hayat, a case has been registered against the accused, and an investigation has been initiated.
In this regard, DIG Operations Syed Ali Raza has said that the police personnel will be rewarded for their bravery. Islamabad Police has put security on high alert throughout the district.
Vigilant teams from the Dolphin and Ababeel Squads are on duty in the city. He added that all officers are present in the field, and citizens should report any suspicious activity by calling 15.
