In a recent incident near Spain’s Canary Islands, a migrant boat in distress led to the rescue of numerous passengers.
As reported by the British News organizations BBC, authorities successfully rescued 227 migrants yesterday after receiving reports of a boat accident resulting in the tragic death of 30 individuals.
According to Coast Guard officials, these migrants were en route to the islands of Lanzarote and Gran Canaria in small boats. In response to the emergency, the necessary measures were taken, and a significant number of rescued individuals have been transported to hospitals, where their condition is reported to be stable.
It is worth mentioning that two migrant monitoring organizations, Alarmphone and WalkingBard, had previously reported another migrant boat sinking near Spain’s Canary Islands, raising concerns about the potential loss of over 30 lives.
In a statement on Twitter, Helena Melino, spokesperson for Walking Border, confirmed that a boat accident had claimed the lives of 39 people in the vicinity of Spain.
