ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain with thunder, lightning, and strong winds in various parts of the country from June 13 to 16. This change in weather is also expected to reduce the current heatwave.

According to the PMD, moist winds from the Arabian Sea are entering the upper parts of the country. A westerly weather system is also likely to affect these areas from June 13. Due to this, several regions will experience rain and thunderstorms over the next few days.

Rain with gusty winds and thunder is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galiyat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, and Abbottabad. Some areas may also see hailstorms.

The PMD has warned that strong winds, heavy rain and hail could damage weak structures such as electric poles, trees, solar panels, and vehicles, especially in upper and central areas including Islamabad.

The current heatwave is expected to weaken during this period, bringing some relief to the public.

Farmers are advised to plan their crop-related activities according to the changing weather conditions. The public, including tourists and travellers, should take safety measures during the expected bad weather.

All concerned departments have been advised to stay alert and take necessary steps to avoid any damage or accidents during this period.
