Punjab sports dept to build hotel at Nishtar Park sports complex

LAHORE: The Punjab Sports Department has shared plans to build a four-storey hotel at Nishtar Park Sports Complex to improve sports facilities and provide better accommodation for athletes.

As per the information provided by private newspaper, the announcement was made by Punjab Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs Muzaffar Khan during a meeting of the Departmental Development Sub-Committee at Punjab Stadium.

The meeting included important officials, such as Director General Khizar Afzaal. Muzaffar Sial explained that the new hotel at Nishtar Park Sports Complex will be a helpful addition for athletes. He said the department’s main goal is to promote sports across Punjab, and they are working on various steps to support this aim.

The hotel is expected to offer comfortable accommodation with modern security features for visiting athletes and officials, helping to strengthen Punjab’s sports environment.

The Punjab Sports Department is also working on other projects to support sports development in the province. These include building a football ground and gymnasium in Gao Shala, Lahore, as well as sports complexes in Bhalwal and Bhaira. Additionally, a sports ground is being developed in Kotli Satyan, Murree.

In other news, the Bangladesh cricket team will visit Pakistan to play a series, following an agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board in Dubai.

After a long meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Bangladesh Cricket Board Chairman Nazmul Abedin, and President Faruque Ahmed, it was confirmed that the Bangladesh team will travel to Pakistan, according to a statement.

The two teams will play three T20 matches in Lahore. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi thanked the Bangladesh Cricket Board Chairman and President for agreeing to the tour.
