LAHORE: The annual elections of the Lahore High Court Bar Association will take place tomorrow ( Saturday). Seven candidates are competing for three positions, including the president’s post.
For the president’s position, Saqib Akram Gondal from the Asma Jahangir Group will face off against Asif Naswana from the Hamid Khan Group. For the secretary position, two candidates, Farukh Ilyas Cheema and Qasim Aijaz Samra, will compete.
Three candidates—Sheikh Haseeb Bin Yusuf, Abdul Rahman Ranjha, and Abdul Razzaq Chaddhar—are contesting for the vice president’s position. Meanwhile, Hussam Bin Shoaib Kamboh has been elected unopposed as finance secretary.

Election Board Chairman Shahzad Ahmed said preparations for the elections are complete. The total membership of the Lahore High Court Bar is 44,232. Out of these, 30,763 registered voters will cast their votes using a biometric system.
He added that 2,287 female voters and 28,476 male voters will participate. Seven polling booths have been set up, and 120 computers will be used for voting.
