Media sources indicate that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed all preparations, including the inauguration plaque, originally planned for February 4.

One of the newly built underpasses will be named after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Prime Minister’s Office has asked the CDA to proceed with official naming arrangements.

The project comprises three underpasses — one on Khayaban-i-Suhrawardi and two on Srinagar Highway. Initially planned for completion in four months, the project was later given a 60-day target by the prime minister but took an extra month to finish.

With horticulture and electrical work completed, the interchange is now ready for use. CDA officials believe it will ease traffic congestion at one of Islamabad’s busiest junctions.

Naqvi highlighted the project’s beautification, which includes trees, flowers, and landscaping. He congratulated the CDA chairman and his team for their efforts and emphasized that despite the fast completion, high standards were maintained.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the project, featuring three underpasses and connecting roads, has been completed in a record 72 days.
