RAWALPINDI: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Azam Swati, was released from Attock Jail. After his release, he left for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a private TV channel report, Azam Swati was freed after receiving a court order. The Lahore High Court had granted him bail in the Sangjani rally case three days ago.
Azam Swati was arrested last October during a protest in Islamabad and later transferred to Attock Jail.
In November, Islamabad’s Anti-Terrorism and District Court granted bail to Azam Swati in eight different cases and ordered his release.
After getting bail, Azam Swati was released from Attock Jail. However, as soon as he left the jail, he was re-arrested in connection with another case.

The police stated that multiple cases are filed against Azam Swati and other PTI leaders at the Taxila and Hassan Abdal police stations.
The case was registered at Sangjani police station. The case details mention that, at the urging of Imran Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur misused government resources.
The case also states that Azam Swati financially supported the protesters, who stole weapons, wireless sets, and tear gas shells. The protesters also fired at police officers, who took cover behind trees to protect themselves.
The charges in the case include obstruction of official duties, kidnapping, robbery, and stealing government weapons.
