LAHORE: Rain has significantly lowered temperatures in several cities of Punjab, including Lahore. At the same time, the fog has cleared up. Light rain was reported in different areas of Lahore early in the morning, making the weather pleasant. Areas including Jain Mandir, Township, Samanabad, Shafiqabad, Band Road, Choburji, and Mazang saw light to moderate rain. Cold weather also prevailed in other cities, such as Munchanabad, Basirpur, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Patioki, Arifwala, Sahiwal, and Renala Khurd.
According to the Meteorological Department, more rain is expected in Lahore in the next 24 hours. The current temperature in Lahore is 10°C, and it may rise to 16°C.
In the northern areas, snowfall has covered the mountains with a white blanket. Kashmir, Murree, Galyat, and surrounding areas are expected to receive more rain and snow.
Azad Kashmir is experiencing severe cold. The temperature in Taobat is -21°C, in Leh -13°C, in Parachinar -12°C, in Astor -11°C, in Gupis -10°C, in Skardu -9°C, in Kalam -7°C, and in Hunza -6°C.

In Punjab, fog is expected to remain in cities like Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Pakpattan, Khanewal, Vehari, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, DG Khan, and nearby areas. However, the weather will remain cold in Murree, Galyat, and surrounding areas with a chance of light rain or snowfall.
In addition, dense fog in various cities has caused limited visibility. Due to this, the M-4 motorway from Pindi Bhattian to Multan and the M-5 from Multan to Rohri have been closed.
