ISLAMABAD: The Chinese government has announced a scholarship program for 2025-26, offering AJK and Pakistani students the opportunity to pursue their studies and conduct research at Chinese universities.
As per the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the deadline to submit the online application is Monday, December 9, 2024.
Only applicants who have already received a valid HAT (score obtained on or after December 9, 2022, is valid) or USAT score (score obtained on or after December 9, 2023, is valid) will be considered for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2025-26.
Applicants must submit a valid score on the HEC portal during the application process for consideration.

On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, the HEC is the nominating agency for these scholarships in the academic year 2025-26.
The China Scholarship Council (CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is responsible for the enrollment and administration of the Chinese Government Scholarship Program. Qualified applicants can apply for scholarships for Undergraduate/Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral/PhD programs in their respective fields of study.
According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must be Pakistani/AJ&K nationals. Dual nationality holders are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be in good health, and those with incomplete degrees on the application closing date are not allowed to apply.
Applicants for the Undergraduate/Bachelor’s program must have completed intermediate/A-level/FA-FSC (12 years) of education and be under the age of 25 at the time of application. Applicants for the Master’s program must hold a Bachelor’s degree (16 years) and be under the age of 35 at the time of application.
Applicants for the PhD/Doctoral program must have a Master’s degree (MS/MPhil) and be under the age of 40 at the time of application, they must also meet the application requirements as prescribed on the China Scholarship Council website and portal.

Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the applied universities in terms of academic eligibility, language proficiency, and other relevant criteria and must not be receiving any other type of scholarship at the time of application.
All applicants must provide a HAT or USAT score (HAT for Master’s/PhD and USAT for Undergraduate). Applicants need to score at least 50 out of 100 in the HAT or USAT test. Applications will not be processed further without this minimum score.
The test validity for HAT is 2 years, and for USAT, it is 1 year. For this scholarship, applicants must have already obtained a valid HAT (score obtained on or after December 9, 2022) or USAT score (score obtained on or after December 9, 2023).
As per the tuition funds details, the funds will be comprehensively used by the host university. They may cover education, administration costs, health insurance, and expenses to support student activities.

Meanwhile, a free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy will be provided to each awardee, and a stipend will be given according to the China Government Scholarship policy.
