LAHORE :A motorcycle rider, in Lahore, was fined Rs. 55,200 for several traffic violations. Motorcyclist was caught by the city’s AI-powered enforcement system.

The imposed fines included 24 challans for not wearing a helmet, each worth Rs. 2,000. He was also penalized for nine violations, including lane crossings, breaking signals, and sign infringements.

Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer confirmed that e-challans are issued for multiple offenses, including those caught by the city’s AI-powered enforcement system. He said actions were taken quickly.

On July 22, 2024, Punjab Traffic Police issued hundreds of e-challans to owners of smoke-emitting vehicles. AI cameras under the Safe City project capture images and videos, which are then used as evidence for the fines.
