RAWALPINDI: Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, was released from Adiala Jail, and on this occasion, tight security arrangements were made outside the jail.

The Special Judge Central ordered the release of Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana 2 case. Court staff took Mashal Yousafzai to Adiala Jail, where the administration released him after finishing the legal process.

Bushra Bibi left the jail in a white Land Cruiser. Security was on high alert outside the jail, and police personnel were stationed at Gate No. 5.

It should be remembered that yesterday the Islamabad High Court ordered the release of Bushra Bibi on bail in the Toshakhana 2 case. Bushra Bibi spent almost 9 months in jail. She was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment in the Toshakhana case on January 31 of this year.

The Commissioner of Islamabad declared Bani Gala a sub-jail and transferred her there. However, later, Bushra Bibi challenged the Commissioner’s notification in court and requested that she be transferred to Adiala Jail, after which she was re-arrested and sent to Adiala Jail.

The Islamabad High Court suspended her sentence in the Toshakhana case, but she was arrested again in the Toshakhana 2 case.

After getting bail from the High Court yesterday, due to the non-availability of Senior Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjamand and Special Judge Central No. 2 Humayun Dilawar being on leave, the release of Bushra Bibi could not be issued.

Bushra Bibi’s bail bond was submitted by Malik Tariq Mehmood Noon.
