LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz formally inaugurated the Safe City Project in Sheikhupura, after which Sheikhupura became the fourth city included in the province’s safe cities, while next week 4 more cities will be included.
As per report, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the Safe City Project in Sheikhupura and expressed her determination to make every city safe.
Sheikhupura is the fourth city to be included in Punjab’s safe cities. The program to make 18 cities in the province safe has begun in Sheikhupura, and next week four more cities will become safe cities, which Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will inaugurate.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also ordered the activation of the Safe City project in five more cities within two weeks and directed the full activation of the Safe City project in all 18 major cities by March.
She also observed the video wall of Safe City Sheikhupura and inspected the modern communication equipment installed there. She was briefed on the modern body cams, rugged smartphones, and other equipment available.

Report Says, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also reviewed the monitoring process at the Safe City Sheikhupura control room, where the MD Safe City briefed her, she interacted with Police Communication Officers and inspected the streets and markets through Safe City cameras.
During the briefing, it was informed that 273 cameras have been installed at 52 important locations in Sheikhupura. There will be automatic e-challans for traffic violations, and Safe City Sheikhupura will also monitor the air quality index. Criminal identification and tracking will be done through a facial recognition system.
The Chief Minister was informed that panic buttons have been installed at 10 different locations in Sheikhupura city, and free Wi-Fi is also being provided at 15 locations.
Later, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met the Assembly Members of Sheikhupura, where the DPO Sheikhupura briefed them on the law and order situation.
The Deputy Commissioner of Sheikhupura apprised the Chief Minister of the progress on the CM Initiative. The construction and expansion of the Sheikhupura-Sargodha road and the overhead project were also agreed upon.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered effective measures to end wall chalking and instructed immediate action.
