Lahore : A Fly Jinnah Airlines flight executed an emergency landing at Lahore airport after catching fire, as reported by a private TV channel on Monday.
Sources indicated that the pilot of the Lahore-bound flight P846 issued a Mayday call after detecting a fire in the cargo area.
More than 160 passengers, including women and children, were on board, sources added.
Upon landing, the pilot was instructed to open all doors and deploy emergency slides, ensuring the passengers’ safety.
An inspection of the cargo area revealed no signs of fire after landing, and the pilot was subsequently taken to the CAA Medical Unit for medical evaluation.
It is also important to remember that on September 10, 2024, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight bound for Peshawar made an emergency landing at Dubai International Airport due to a technical fault. This incident occurred shortly after takeoff, and the passengers were safely transported to the lounge for further examination.
