At the age of 15, he became Pakistan’s tallest man. However, he had been suffering from a knee-related illness since experiencing knee pain at the age of 20.

Since then, he was unable to receive proper treatment, and according to private media reports, neither did the government provide him with care. Over time, his illness worsened.

Last year, he slipped while descending stairs, exacerbating his pain. Today, he breathed his last while battling the disease.

In a December 2018 interview with the media, Rasheed had mentioned that he was undergoing taekwondo training to maintain his physical fitness and learn self-defense.

Zia Rasheed had stated that his height was eight feet and three inches, asserting that he was the second tallest man in the world.

He had requested the government to provide financial support to improve his quality of life. He had mentioned that he had received education up to matriculation and expressed a desire to continue his studies despite facing financial and travel-related challenges.
