Google Photos is currently experimenting with a fresh feature that grants users control over who appears in their Memory recaps, as reported by an American magazine.
According to sources, Google Photos is developing a “show less” option, enabling users to conceal specific faces from the platform’s automatically generated “memories” without deleting their images from the photo library.
However, individuals may still be visible in group photos.
The new feature was initially revealed by Google tipster Assemble Debug, shared on X (formerly Twitter).
Reportedly, the “show less” functionality is not yet active in Google Photos but is slated for future releases, as per Android Authority.
In upcoming iterations, the app will introduce a “Hide face from memories” choice accessible when editing an individual from the “People and Pets” view.
Activating this option will unveil two additional choices: a “Show less” feature and a “Block face” option, preventing that person from being tagged in photos with others.
Additionally, a new settings flow will be implemented to accommodate this change, accessible via Settings > Preferences > Memories > Hide people & pets.
Assemble Debug has also suggested that a forthcoming Google Photos update will include a new one-tap video enhancement feature.
