ISLAMABAD: A plan has been developed to offer world-class recreational facilities to the residents of Islamabad, with approval granted to construct Pakistan’s first world-class zoo and safari park.
According to a media report, a meeting was held at the CDA office, led by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, where they talked about the plan to give the people of Islamabad high-quality recreational facilities.
According to the announcement, Chairman CDA gave a briefing on the project of establishing a zoo and safari park. The home minister gave in-principle approval to the zoo and safari park project.
The announcement said that 5,000 animals and birds will be housed in the 200-acre zoo and safari park.
Speaking in this regard, Mohsin Naqvi said that the safari park should be registered with the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The foundation stone of the zoo and safari park will be laid in October. The Interior Minister says that the zoo and safari park will increase the tourism of Islamabad.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended the tenure of current Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed for one year.
