LAHORE: Shortly after Maryam Nawaz took on the role of chief minister of Punjab, a significant shake-up occurred within the Punjab bureaucracy on Friday.
A total of 56 officers were subject to transfer and posting orders, including the chairman of the P&D Board and the principal secretary to the Punjab governor.
As per an official notification, Nabeel Ahmad Awan, previously serving as principal secretary to the Punjab governor, has been transferred to the position of chairman of the Planning & Development (P&D) Board in Punjab, replacing Flt. Lt. (retd) Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, who was previously assigned as secretary of the Agriculture Department.
Fuad Hashim Rabbani, previously serving as secretary of the Management & Professional Development Department, has been appointed as additional chief secretary of South Punjab, replacing Capt (retd) Saqib Zafar. Zafar, who had already been transferred, has now assumed the position of principal secretary to the Punjab governor.
In another move, Capt. (retd) Asadullah Khan, who was serving as chairman of the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, has been reassigned as secretary of the Housing Urban Development & Public Health Engineering Department.
Furthermore, Shakeel Ahmad, the former secretary of the Home Department, has been appointed as the secretary of the Local Government & Community Development Department, filling a previously vacant position. Meanwhile, Capt. (retd) Noorul-Amin Mengal, who was awaiting posting, has now been designated as secretary of the Home Department.
Lastly, Rashid Kamalur-Rehman, who held the position of secretary in the Environment Protection Department, has been instructed to report to the Services & General Administration Department for further orders.
Javed Akhtar Mahmood, who previously served as OSD, has been appointed as the secretary of the Auqaf & Religious Affairs Department. Dr. Nasir Iqbal Malik, formerly the secretary of the Archives & Libraries Wing in S&GAD, has been reassigned as the chief economist of the Planning & Development Board.
Ali Bahadur Qazi, who held the position of member (Enquiries-I) in S&GAD, has been designated as the secretary of Human Rights & Minorities Affairs. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib, the former secretary of the Punjab Human Rights & Minorities Affairs, has now assumed the role of secretary of the Management & Professional Development Department.
Dr. Tahir Raza Bukhari, previously serving as the secretary of the Auqaf & Religious Affairs Department, has been appointed as the DG Religious Affairs/Punjab Auqaf Organisation, filling a vacant post. Iqbal Hussain, who served as the chief executive officer of the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPPA), has been reassigned as the secretary of the Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Department.
Muhammad Usman, the former secretary of the Food Department, has been appointed as the chief executive officer of PPPPA. Moazzam Iqbal Sipra, who held the position of chief economist in the Planning & Development Board, has been appointed as the secretary to the Government of Punjab in the Food Department.
Zahoor Hussain, who previously served as the secretary of the Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Department, has been reassigned as the secretary of the Archives & Libraries Wing in S&GAD. Muzaffar Khan, the former secretary of the Planning & Development Board, has been appointed as the secretary of the Youth Affairs & Sports Department.
Dr. Asif Tufail, who was the director general of Sports & Youth Affairs, has been appointed as the secretary of the Punjab Planning & Development Board. Lastly, Pervez Iqbal, who was awaiting posting, has been assigned as the director general of Sports & Youth Affairs.
Khalid Saleem, secretary Higher Education Department, and Muhammad Ahsan Waheed, secretary School Education Department, were transferred and directed to report to the S&GAD for further orders.
Dr. Ehtisham Anwar, who previously served as the commissioner of Bahawalpur Division, has been transferred and appointed as the secretary of the School Education Department. Nadir Chattha, formerly the secretary of Agriculture, has been reassigned as the commissioner of Bahawalpur.
Dr. Farrukh Naveed, who held the position of secretary (Implementation) to the Chief Minister of Punjab, has been appointed as the secretary of Higher Education. Mudassar Riaz Malik, the former DG of Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal, has been reassigned as the DG of Wildlife & Parks.
Danish Afzal, previously an OSD, has been appointed as the secretary (Implementation) to the Chief Minister. Ms. Amina Munir, the former DG of Special Education, has been reassigned as the DG of Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal.
Mubeen Illahi, who served as the DG of Wildlife & Parks, has been instructed to report to the S&GAD for further orders. Mrs. Shahida Farrukh Naveed, the special secretary of Higher Education, has been appointed as the DG of Special Education.
Munibur-Rehman, who was the additional secretary (Coordination) to the Additional Chief Secretary, has been appointed as the special secretary of Higher Education. Khalid Nazir, the DG of Punjab Housing Town Planning Agency (PHATA), has been appointed as the special secretary of School Education.
Ms. Kalsoom Saqib, the special secretary of School Education, has been directed to report to the S&GAD to attend the Senior Management Course (SMC). Saif Anwar Jappa, who served as the DG of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), has been appointed as the director general of Punjab Housing Town Planning Agency (PHATA).
Mrs. Kinza Murtaza, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as the director general of RDA. Rafaqat Ali, the special secretary (Budget & Resource) of the Finance Department, has been appointed as the secretary (I&C) of S&GAD.
Syed Muhammad Masood Nouman, who was the additional secretary (Budget), has been appointed as the special secretary (Budget & Resource) of the Finance Department. Wajid Ali Shah, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as the special secretary of the Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Department.
Muhammad Ahmad, who served as the special secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office, has been appointed as the special secretary of Primary & Secondary Healthcare. Waqar Hussain, the chief of section in the Planning & Development Board, has been appointed as the special secretary of the Chief Minister’s Office.
Flt. Lt. (retd) Tahir Farooq, who was the Additional Secretary (Admn) in S&AD, has been appointed as the director general of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA). Umer Sher, the additional secretary (Admn.) of the Agriculture Department, has been appointed as the additional secretary of the Chief Minister’s Office.
Muhammad Ali Bukhari, who served as the additional secretary in the Finance Department, has been appointed as the additional secretary (Budget) in the Finance Department. The services of Umer Abbas Mela, the chief strategy officer of IDAP, have been placed at the disposal of the Finance Department.
Muhammad Nouman Siddique, who previously served as the additional secretary of the Housing Urban Development Department & Public Health Engineering Department, has been transferred and appointed as the additional secretary of the Chief Minister’s Office. Capt. (retd) Shahmeer Iqbal, formerly the deputy secretary of the Irrigation Department, has been appointed as the chief executive officer of the Infrastructure Development Authority of Punjab (IDAP).
Muhammad Khan Ranjah, serving as Member (Colonies) on the Board of Revenue, has been directed to report to the S&GAD for further orders. Shaukat Ali, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as a member (Colonies) on the Board of Revenue.
Shahzad Saeed, previously a member of the CMIT, has been reassigned as a member (Judicial-VIII) on the Board of Revenue. Muhammad Zaman Wattoo, who was an OSD, has been appointed as a member (Taxes) on the Board of Revenue.
Saqib Manan, also an OSD, has been appointed as a member (Enquiries-IV) in S&GAD. Muhammad Ali, who served as the DG of Excise & Taxation, has been directed to report to the S&GAD to attend the Senior Management Course (SMC). Faisal Fareed, previously an OSD, has been appointed as the DG of Excise & Taxation.
Flt. Lt. (retd) Imran Qureshi, the DG of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), has been directed to report to the S&GAD to attend the Senior Management Course (SMC). Irfan Ali, an OSD, has been appointed as the DG of PDMA.
Capt (retd) Nadeem Nasir, who served as the deputy secretary (Services) in S&GAD, has been transferred and appointed as the additional secretary (Admn) in S&GAD. Capt (retd) Muhammad Shahrukh Cheema, formerly the deputy secretary (Establishment) in S&GAD, has been appointed as the deputy secretary (Services) in S&GAD.
