SIALKOT: Firdous Ashiq Awan, a prominent figure within the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), has encountered legal issues following the emergence of a video on social media, purportedly depicting her engaging in physical altercation with a policeman at a polling station in Sialkot. The alleged incident took place on Thursday during the elections.
The Sialkot Sadar police have responded by initiating legal proceedings, lodging a case against Firdous Ashiq Awan based on a complaint filed by ASI Amjad.
According to the filed FIR, Awan is accused of behaving inappropriately and slapping a policeman who was on duty at Government High School Gana Kalan in Sialkot NA 70.
The circulating video clip of the altercation has gained significant traction on social media platforms, triggering widespread criticism and discussion. Awan’s actions have prompted condemnation from various quarters, with many advocating for accountability and severe repercussions.
