A significant deployment of police and Pakistan Army personnel sealed off the entire vicinity and commenced a search operation to apprehend the terrorists.

The terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the nearby mountainous region. Police sources confirmed that efforts are underway in the ongoing search operation to capture the terrorists.

Just this week, a roadside bomb claimed the lives of at least five police officers assigned to safeguard polio vaccination workers in Mamund tehsil of Bajaur district .

Areas along the Pakistani border with Afghanistan have witnessed a notable increase in attacks following the resurgence of the Taliban in 2021.

The Pakistani authorities assert that Kabul is providing refuge to allied militants like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), enabling them to conduct attacks within Pakistan without consequence.

According to statistics released by the Department of Interior and Tribal Affairs KP, regions most affected by terrorism encompass Peshawar, Khyber, Bajaur, and Tank, while Dera Ismail Khan, North Waziristan, and South Waziristan are also listed as terror-affected areas.
