ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan, on Saturday, issued a communication to the Ministry of Interior, urging the deployment of the army for the forthcoming general elections.
Additionally, the letter urged a comprehensive report regarding security arrangements for the imminent elections to be submitted by November 27.
The communication emphasized the deficiency in police manpower and suggested the involvement of the Pakistan Army and other law enforcement bodies to fill this void.
Emphasizing its dedication to ensuring fair and transparent elections through constitutional and legal means, the Election Commission stressed the necessity for specific information about the availability of security personnel across the four provinces and Islamabad.
Furthermore, the Commission called upon law enforcement agencies to bolster the law and order situation in all electoral constituencies.
