ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of PTI, Imran Khan, has taken his challenge against the trial court’s indictment in the cipher case to the Supreme Court.

Through his attorney, Hamid Khan, Chairman PTI has submitted a petition to the Supreme Court, contesting the trial court’s ruling in the cipher case.

The petition contends that the petitioner is a target of political retaliation by adversaries, and this vengeful behavior has spilled over to affect the petitioner’s political party and allies.

Additionally, the petition emphasizes the importance of informing the court about the petitioner’s victimization in Islamabad, where around 200 cases have been lodged against the petitioner.

The state machinery is allegedly being misused for the questionable purpose of fabricating false charges, and there are concerns about the independence and fairness of the FIA regarding these financial matters.

The petition seeks a declaration that the entire trial against the petitioner is illegal and exceeds the court’s jurisdiction. Consequently, the court is urged to rule the special court’s order from October 23 as unconstitutional and in violation of the law, and the order from the Islamabad High Court on October 26 should also be annulled.

It’s noteworthy that Chairman PTI, Imran Khan, and Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, face charges in the cipher case.
