ISLAMABAD: In a recent reorganization at the Capital Development Authority (CDA), a Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) officer with a BPS-18 ranking has assumed the role of Deputy Director General (Land) within the organization.

Umber Gilani, a deputed officer of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), has been appointed as the Director (Land and Rehabilitation) and will also be responsible for the duties of Deputy Director General (Land). She previously held the position of Director Parks in the Environment department and also temporarily oversaw the duties of Director (Discipline).

Both of these positions are typically designated for BPS-19 officers, but the CDA’s service regulations permit the management to assign these roles to officers one grade lower. Umer Liaquat Randhawa, another BPS-18 officer from the PAS, who was serving as the DDG (Land), has been directed to join the Enforcement Directorate for his next assignment as the director (Enforcement).

Syed Safdar Ali, a BPS-19 officer from the executive cadre and the Secretary of the CDA Board, will now oversee the responsibilities of director (Discipline) within the Human Resource Directorate (HRD). Abdul Rauf, who was awaiting his new assignment, has been appointed as the director (Regulations and Labour Relations).

Faz Ahmed Wattoo, the Director (Administration), has been entrusted with the additional role of director (Sanitation), while Iftikhar Haideri, the Director (Regulations and Labour Relations), has been instructed to report to the HRD.

A BPS-18 officer from the Office Management Group, Abeera Dilawar, who was previously serving as Director (Culture and Sports), has been transferred to the role of Director (Public Relations) within the DPR. Notably, Syed Safdar Ali had previously held temporary charge of the DPR.
