ISLAMABAD: Anti-corruption authorities have apprehended Parvez Elahi, the President of Tehreek-e-Insaf.
As per anti-corruption officials, Parvez Elahi has been released from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Sources indicate that the Anti-Corruption Cell took Parvez Elahi into custody from Adiala Jail.
In connection with this development, anti-corruption authorities state that Parvaz Elahi is being transported to a local court for a transit remand.
Regarding the detention of the former Chief Minister of Punjab, anti-corruption authorities mention that Parvez Elahi is scheduled to be transferred to the anti-corruption headquarters in Lahore later today.
Officials note that there are four anti-corruption cases pending against Parvez Elahi.
On the other hand, Parvez Elahi’s attorney, Sardar Abdul Razaq, asserts that his client wishes to be transported to Lahore for remand via the Lahore Police Corridor. He also confirms that bail has been granted to Parvez Elahi in the Islamabad Judicial Complex attack case.
It’s important to recall that Parvez Elahi was granted bail in the judicial complex vandalism case yesterday.
Although the Anti-Terrorism Court approved bail against a 20,000 rupee bond, Parvez Elahi’s legal team has not yet submitted the required bond, resulting in the bail not being issued.
