KARACHI: The Sindh Government in Karachi has introduced the People’s Bus Service app to enhance convenience for its citizens.

Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon recently announced the launch of this app, and it is now available for public use. The app, controlled by the Sindh government and separate from NRTC, enables citizens to access various features and services.

How will citizens be able to use this facility?

To utilize this facility, citizens can use the People’s Bus Service app to purchase tickets digitally and view the bus environment. The app provides information such as the location of the bus, online booking options, routes, fares, and a direct complaint system to report issues to the authorities.

To ensure safety and security, the People’s Bus Service will be monitored through an intelligent transport system. Additionally, CCTV cameras will be installed inside the buses, and the vehicles will be equipped with features such as an audio system, USB ports, a Wi-Fi communication system, and a driver alarm.

Furthermore, the introduction of the People’s Bus Service app aims to streamline public transportation in Karachi and improve the overall commuting experience for citizens. With the app’s ticketing feature, passengers no longer need to rely on physical cards or cash, simplifying the payment process.

The real-time tracking feature on the app allows commuters to easily determine the current location of the bus they intend to board. This information helps passengers plan their journeys more efficiently, reducing waiting times and ensuring a smoother travel experience.

In addition to location tracking, the app offers a range of essential services to enhance user convenience. Passengers can access comprehensive information about routes and fares, enabling them to make informed decisions about their travel plans. The online booking feature allows users to reserve seats in advance, ensuring they have a guaranteed spot on their desired bus.

To address any concerns or issues faced by passengers, the People’s Bus Service app includes a direct complaint system. This feature enables users to submit their grievances directly to the relevant authorities, ensuring prompt resolution and improved communication channels between commuters and the transportation administration.

Moreover, the People’s Bus Service is committed to ensuring passenger safety and comfort. The implementation of an intelligent transport system enables effective monitoring of the buses, enhancing security measures. CCTV cameras installed inside the buses not only deter potential incidents but also provide evidence in case of any untoward events.
