Najam Sethi reaffirms commitment to hosting Asia Cup despite uncertainties

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, Najam Sethi, has made a statement suggesting that India might refuse to participate in the World Cup if they are not allowed to host the Asia Cup.

In an interview with a news agency, Sethi expressed India’s desire for all matches to take place at a neutral venue. He urged India to avoid creating a situation that would lead to a boycott of both the Asia Cup and the World Cup.

Sethi emphasized that relocating the Asia Cup from Pakistan would not be acceptable and could potentially result in India boycotting the Champions Trophy.

He further mentioned that Pakistan could consider boycotting the World Cup if the situation called for it, citing concerns for the security of the Pakistani team in India.

Sethi highlighted the efforts made by Pakistan to revive international cricket in the country, with several major teams having visited and commended the security measures.

He questioned why other Indian sports teams, such as the bridge, kabaddi, and baseball teams, can visit Pakistan, but the cricket team cannot.
