The Chairperson of BISP, Rubina Khalid, stated that the increase in the quarterly installment for deserving women, announced on the occasion of the New Year, is a revolutionary step. She further mentioned that this year is being dedicated to the Benazir Hunarmand Program.
She added that through the Benazir Hunarmand Program, members of deserving families will be taught various skills to help them become self-reliant.
According to the Chairperson of BISP, the amount of the Benazir Kafalat quarterly installment has been increased from Rs. 10,500 to Rs. 13,500.
It should be noted that previously, under the Benazir Income Support Program, deserving women were provided with an installment of Rs. 10,500 every three months.

On the other hand, it may be recalled that earlier, the government increased the budget allocation for the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) from Rs. 250 billion to Rs. 400 billion for the year 2024 to expand its coverage to more deserving families.
According to the report, this step was taken considering the rising prices of daily necessities and increasing unemployment, which have caused more people to fall below the poverty line.
A meeting was held at the BISP headquarters to review the progress in providing relief to the poor. The Minister for Poverty Alleviation, Shazia Marri, chaired the meeting.
Participants were informed that, over the past year, the government increased the allocation for the Benazir Income Support Program by 60 percent to Rs. 400 billion, up from the previous allocation of Rs. 250 billion. This increase was made in the mini-budget presented by the current government two months ago.
