Imran Khan’s Interim Bail Pleas Rejected in Multiple Cases by Anti-Terrorism Court

LAHORE: On Thursday, an Anti-Terrorism Court rejected the interim bails for Chairman of PTI, Imran Khan, across 7 cases, including the incident at Lahore Corps Commander’s House attack, citing a lack of prosecution.

The Special Prosecutor, Farhad Ali Shah, presented his argument before the court, asserting that the law did not permit the acceptance of exemption applications from convicted individuals. He urged the court to deny the interim bail sought by the PTI chairman. Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s legal representative contended that his client was presently incarcerated and suggested that the court summon him since he intended to personally attend the court proceedings.

In response, the court highlighted that even during periods of freedom, Khan had not adhered to the court’s directives. Barrister Salman Safdar, who had been excused from participating in the hearing, requested additional time to present his case for an exemption from attendance.

The court declined to approve the PTI chairman’s request for exemption from personal appearance and subsequently dismissed his application for bail.
