ISLAMABAD: Atlas Honda Ltd (AHL) plans to launch electric scooters specially designed for Pakistani consumers, following the government’s announcement of the National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP).
In a statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday, AHL said it is working with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permissions and ensure a smooth launch process.
The company plans to roll out the scooters before the end of the current fiscal year, after completing all quality checks and road testing.
In its annual report for the year ending March 2025, AHL outlined its long-term electric vehicle (EV) strategy. The company aims to capture a major share of Pakistan’s EV market by 2030, focusing on urban commuters, delivery riders, and government fleets. AHL plans to offer high-quality, locally assembled electric scooters under its trusted brand name.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government has announced that it will hold a ballot to distribute electric scooters among 1,000 women. The move is part of a broader effort to improve transport facilities and create employment opportunities.
