ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced an increase in toll taxes on motorways across Pakistan. The new toll rates will apply from June 15, 2025.
Vehicles without an M-Tag or with low balance will now pay 50% extra toll charges on all motorways.
New toll rates for cars on major routes are as follows:
-
Islamabad to Lahore (M-2): Rs. 1,800
-
Lahore to Abdul Hakeem (M-3): Rs. 1,200
-
Pindi Bhattian to Multan (M-4): Rs. 1,600
-
Multan to Sukkur (M-5): Rs. 1,800
-
D.I. Khan to Hakla (M-14): Rs. 1,000
-
Hasan Abdal to Mansehra (E-35): Rs. 450
Heavy vehicles and trucks will also see higher tolls. The new toll for a 2 or 3-axle truck from Lahore to Islamabad is Rs. 7,900. For an articulated truck, the toll is now Rs. 10,200.
The NHA says the increase is aimed at better motorway maintenance and improving road safety. Motorists are advised to use M-Tag to avoid paying extra. Motorway officials have also requested citizens to activate their M-Tags and ensure sufficient balance before June 15 to avoid the additional charges.

It is worth mentioning that since February 1, 2025, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has been charging 25% extra toll from vehicles without an M-Tag or with low balance.
According to officials, this additional charge is not intended to generate more revenue, but rather to encourage the public to use M-Tag.
