ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced holidays for Eidul Azha 2025, a notification of this announcement has been issued.
According to the official notification, the Eidul Azha holidays will be from Friday, June 6 to Monday, June 9. The Cabinet Division has issued the notification of official holidays.
The notification of Eidul Azha holidays has been issued by the Cabinet Division after the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Secretary Cabinet Kamran Ali Afzal has issued the holiday notification.
It should be noted that the moon of Zul-Hijjah 1446 Hijri was sighted in Pakistan on May 30. The 1st Zul-Hijjah was on May 29, and accordingly, Eidul Azha will be on Saturday, June 7 in Pakistan.

Additionally, the federal government has announced a significant special discount on train fares for the 3 days of Eidul Azha.
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, while talking to the media, said that 5 special trains will be run on Eidul Azha.

Hanif Abbasi said that the agreements made with the media will be fully fulfilled. Pakistan Railways has achieved new achievements in its 77-year history. Pakistan Railways’ performance in eleven months has been excellent.
He said that income is also being generated from the leased places of the Railways. Royal Palm is being outsourced according to the Prime Minister’s thinking. Transparency in the bidding process; bids will be opened in front of everyone.
The Railways Minister said that a budget of one billion rupees has been allocated for eight Railway hospitals. Preparations are also being made to outsource Railway hospitals, and treatment facilities for Railway employees will be provided free of cost.
Islamabad Metro Bus Fares Increases:
On the other hand, in the news, the fares of Metro and electric buses in Islamabad have been increased by 100 percent.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) says that the fares of metro buses have been increased from June 1st. The fare of Orange, Green, Blue Line, and electric buses has been fixed at Rs 100.
According to CDA officials, the fare increase was made on the basis of administrative and financial reasons.

Similarly, after Eid-ul-Adha, it is proposed to increase tax on non-filers in the budget for the next fiscal year.
According to FBR sources, work is underway on various tax proposals for the next fiscal year’s budget. The budget proposes an additional tax on non-filers withdrawing more than Rs 50,000 per day, while the withholding tax rate for non-filers is expected to increase from 0.6 percent to 1.2 percent.
FBR sources say that the budget is expected to increase sales tax on vehicles smaller than 850 cc. GST rate on locally manufactured vehicles is proposed to be increased from 12.5% to 18%, while levy is also proposed on vehicles running on petrol and diesel.
According to FBR sources, the budget also proposes to increase tax on bank deposits, savings schemes, capital gains, and profits, while a proposal to reduce the super tax rate is under consideration.
