ISLAMABAD : The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has released the latest figures on water inflow and outflow in major rivers and reservoirs across the country.
According to the data, the inflow in the Indus River at Tarbela was recorded at 132,300 cusecs, while the outflow was 145,000 cusecs. In the Kabul River at Nowshera, both the inflow and outflow were measured at 29,900 cusecs.
At Khairabad Bridge, the inflow and outflow were the same, recorded at 172,600 cusecs. The Jhelum River at Mangla saw an inflow of 36,700 cusecs and an outflow of 25,000 cusecs. Meanwhile, the Chenab River at Marala had an inflow of 30,600 cusecs, with the outflow recorded at 10,300 cusecs.
Tarbela Dam’s minimum operating level is 1402 feet. The current water level is 1477.88 feet, while the maximum conservation level is 1550 feet. The usable water storage today is 2.132 million acre-feet (MAF).

At Mangla Dam, the minimum operating level is 1050 feet. The current level is 1162.50 feet, with a maximum conservation level of 1242 feet. The usable water storage stands at 2.235 MAF.
Chashma Dam has a minimum operating level of 638.15 feet. The present water level is 647.00 feet, and the maximum conservation level is 649 feet. Usable water storage today is 0.212 MAF.
The inflow and outflow data from Tarbela and Chashma (Indus River), Nowshera (Kabul River), and Mangla (Jhelum River) are based on a 24-hour average flow.
