QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti launched the Balochistan Youth Policy during a ceremony, calling it an important step to support the province’s youth and address their needs.
“The Youth Policy is a key program for the young people of Balochistan,” Mr. Bugti said at the event in Quetta.
He noted that the policy’s launch was delayed, stating, “This policy was supposed to be announced six months ago, but we faced several challenges.”
Mr. Bugti thanked contributors like Jamal Khan Raisani and Meena Majeed for their efforts in shaping the policy.
“I appreciate the hard work of Jamal Raisani, and I encourage Meena Majeed and Jamal to ensure this policy remains active,” he said.
The chief minister also stressed the importance of creating a national youth policy.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal met with Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti in Quetta to discuss development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

The meeting focused on speeding up development in Balochistan, ensuring resources are distributed fairly, and improving planning to benefit the province, according to a news release.
Ahsan Iqbal confirmed the federal government’s support for Balochistan’s progress, saying, “The projects in the province are designed to improve public welfare and promote sustainable growth.”
He added that better coordination between the federal and provincial governments would help Balochistan access new development opportunities.
Ahsan Iqbal also shared plans to expand the PSDP in the next fiscal year to provide provinces with more resources. “We are working to increase the size of the next PSDP to support provinces with additional funds,” he said.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti reviewed the PSDP 2025–26 projects and expressed satisfaction with their progress. He assured that Balochistan would work closely with the federal government to achieve development goals.
