QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to link Bolan Medical Complex and Sandeman Provincial Hospital with the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to register birth and death certificates, said Abdul Rauf Baloch, Secretary of Local Government and Rural Development.
According to the details, Mr. Baloch described the decision as a step towards digital record-keeping. “Birth and death certificates are now fully digital with Nadra’s support,” he said during a meeting.
He added that more steps are being taken to improve the registration process and strengthen the Civil Registration Management System across Balochistan.
The meeting included officials such as Health Secretary Mujeebur Rehman Panizai, Local Government Board Secretary Shujaat Hussain, Nadra Balochistan Director General Naveed Jan Sahibzada, assistant directors Faizullah Kakar and Rizwan Magsi, Balochistan Health Card Director Dr. Ahmad Wali, and other senior officials from the Health Department and Nadra.
Mr. Baloch stressed the need to make Union Council offices more effective to help people get birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates easily.

It was also agreed to form a committee at the local government level to review existing birth and death certificates and resolve any registration issues.
The meeting ended with the signing of an agreement between the Local Government Department, the Health Department, and Nadra to work together on digital birth and death registration across Balochistan.
Separately, the Balochistan government is working with Indus Hospital to improve healthcare services in remote areas of the province.
A meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, reviewed progress on healthcare services in collaboration with Indus Hospital. Attendees included Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Secretary Health Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai, and Director General Health Dr. Ameen Khan Mandokhail. Indus Hospital officials joined through video link.

Indus Hospital representatives shared updates on healthcare projects, focusing on their work in the Sui and Bekar areas. They explained the steps being taken to improve medical services in these underserved regions.
Chief Minister Bugti assured full government support in providing housing and essential facilities for doctors and healthcare staff. He instructed that the hiring of doctors and medical professionals should be sped up, emphasizing that delays in recruiting consultants and specialists are not acceptable.
