Rawalpindi: City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has issued a traffic plan for the second phase of Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches, scheduled from May 7 to May 13 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
More than 365 officers and traffic personnel will be on special duty during the matches. According to Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi, Beenish Fatima, the deployment will include 1 senior traffic officer, 8 DSPs, 50 inspectors, and 308 traffic wardens and assistants.
Special arrangements have been made to ensure smooth traffic flow during team movements. Awareness banners have been placed on major roads to guide citizens about parking and alternate routes. Real-time traffic updates will also be provided through official social media pages (@ctprwp) and FM radio.
Five designated parking areas have been set up, and a shuttle service will transport spectators from parking zones to the stadium.
During team arrivals and departures, Murree Road will be completely closed from Faizabad to Double Road turn. Traffic coming from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad towards the Expressway. Meanwhile, traffic from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will use Chandni Chowk, Rehmanabad, and 6th Road via Saidpur Road.

Traffic coming from Ghosia Chowk will be diverted through Farooq Azam Road and Kuri Road. Stadium Road will remain closed from 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road turn on both sides.
Traffic from Islamabad via 9th Avenue will enter Rawalpindi through Expressway and IJP Road, passing Pandora, Katarian, Carriage Factory, and Pirwadhai Morr. On the other hand, traffic from Rawalpindi to Islamabad via Double Road and 9th Avenue will be allowed to enter through Murree Road and Faizabad.
Islamabad Traffic Police Advisory
Due to the arrival and movement of PSL cricket teams, Islamabad Traffic Police has announced special security arrangements at different points including Kashmir Chowk, Club Road, and Rawal Dam Chowk until May 6, 2025.
According to the advisory, traffic flow on Club Road may be affected between 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM due to team routes, and delays are expected.
Traffic coming from Radio Pakistan to Srinagar Highway should use Convention Centre and Kashmir Chowk. Vehicles from Aabpara heading towards Bhara Kahu should use Srinagar Highway. Traffic from Club Road going to the Red Zone should take Srinagar Highway and 7th Avenue. Vehicles coming from Zero Point can access Club Road via Serena underpass loop.
Islamabad Traffic Police advises citizens to allow an extra 20 minutes for travel to avoid inconvenience. Officers will be present at key locations to guide commuters.
