Fed Minister Mufti Abdul Shakoor dies in road crash: Islamabad Police

ISLAMABAD: Mufti Abdul Shakoor, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, passed away in a  road accident in Islamabad on Saturday.
According to the capital’s police, the incident occurred shortly around iftar (evening) when the minister was driving his car towards Secretariat Chowk from a local hotel.

As per the police statement, a Toyota Hilux Revo with five passengers onboard smashed into the minister’s vehicle at the driver’s side. Despite being rushed to Polyclinic Hospital in Islamabad, the minister succumbed to his injuries due to severe internal bleeding.

Senior police officials have reached the scene of the crime, and the individuals in the car responsible for the crash have been arrested. Two of the five men are injured. The news of Mufti Abdul Shakoor’s sudden demise has left the nation in shock and mourning.
