Sindh imposes daytime ban on heavy traffic in Karachi for two months

KARACHI: The Sindh government has imposed a complete ban on heavy traffic in Karachi during daytime hours.

According to a notification, the Karachi Commissioner has enforced Section 144, prohibiting heavy traffic from entering the city during the day.

Notification said that the ban, effective in Karachi Division, will last for two months, from April 17 to June 16.

The notification states that the ban also applies to construction material dumpers. Heavy traffic will not be allowed to enter the city from 6 AM to 10 PM.

The restriction was implemented based on the recommendation of the Deputy Inspector General of Traffic.

Heavy traffic will be permitted to travel from Super Highway to New Karachi Industrial Area via Slip Road. It can also move from National Highway to Godown Chowrangi via Manzoor Petrol Pump, Younis Chowrangi, and Dawood Chowrangi to Jam Sadiq.

Additionally, heavy traffic can travel from Northern Bypass to Piracha Chowk, State Avenue, Siemens Chowrangi, and Gulbai Maripur Road, as per the notification.
