KARACHI: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, launched a smartphone app called “I Work for Sindh” on March 14, 2025. The app is part of a job portal created by the Sindh Information Department to help young people in the province find jobs.
According to a report, the launch took place at the Chief Minister House in Karachi. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, other ministers, assistants, advisers, spokespersons, business community members, social media activists, and people from different fields were present.
During his speech, Bilawal said Pakistan’s security forces did well in stopping terrorists after the Jaffar Express hijacking and deserved praise. He said the Sindh government would fight against religious extremism and terrorism and work on projects to help the public.
He mentioned that the National Assembly had discussed the idea of new canals on the Indus River. He said people in Sindh want more jobs, but government jobs are limited, so the focus will now be on creating direct job opportunities.
Bilawal Bhutto said flood victims are being given houses, and women are getting ownership rights to these homes to help them financially. He asked the private sector to join the new app and offer jobs to skilled young people in Sindh.
He added that the PPP Youth Wing and Peoples Students Federation would promote the app to reach more young people. He also said people in Sindh can now study at big universities around the world, like Oxford.
PPP Chairman noted that inflation is going down, which is good news, and the government wants to use modern technology more.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said the job portal will let young people in Sindh sign up to find jobs. He explained that it connects job seekers with employers to help the province grow.
Murad asked job providers and seekers to register on the portal. Job ads for lower-grade positions will be posted there, while higher-grade jobs will go through the IBA for fairness. The portal will also link to short-term job opportunities.
Shah said the PPP has always been the biggest party for the people of Sindh and will keep serving them. He said 2.1 million houses are planned under Bilawal’s vision, with over 800,000 already built. He promised the government would work hard to make the job portal successful and promote it widely.
Senior Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said 65 percent of Pakistan’s population is young, which is why the job portal was created. He said educated and skilled people can upload their CVs to find jobs that fit their skills.
Sharjeel said the government has asked private companies to offer jobs through the portal. He admitted many young people want government jobs, but projects like the People’s Housing Scheme are also creating work.
Memon said different projects are teaching skills to young people, and the portal will provide job chances in both government and private sectors.
He said the portal was made through a partnership between the public and private sectors, following Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision. Memon called the job portal an important step, saying it will help unemployed youth find better jobs and make applying for jobs easier in both sectors.
