PINDI BHATTIAN: Unknown attackers shot and killed Chaudhry Qamar Javed Gujjar, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate from PP-39 and a well-known lawyer. The incident happened early in the morning when he was on his way to the mosque for Fajr prayer.
A private TV channel quoted the police as saying that Chaudhry Qamar Javed Gujar had just left his house in the Kot Nakka area to offer Fajr prayers early in the morning when unknown armed men opened fire on him. He died on the spot.
Police arrived at the scene and started an investigation. Officials are trying to identify the attackers and find out their motive. Residents of the area expressed anger over the incident and demanded justice.

Qamar Javed Gujar was not only a PTI ticket holder in the last election but also a former member of the Hafizabad District Bar Association and a senior member of the Pindi Bhattian Bar. His death has caused grief in the area.
The Hafizabad District Bar Association strongly condemned the killing and announced three days of mourning.
General Secretary Mian Ali Raza Bhatti said in a statement that lawyers will observe a complete strike on February 13, 2025, and will not appear in courts.
