ISLAMABAD: Medical universities across the country have been allowed to take new admissions for the next session, and the result of MDCAT from any province will be effective for the entire country, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
As per tv channel report, The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has issued a letter to the provincial medical universities. The letter issued by Registrar PMDC, Dr. Shaista Faisal, states that the universities have been allowed to take MBBS, BDS admissions.
The letter directs that provincial government medical universities should complete the admission process, and medical universities should give admissions under the PMDC Act 2022 and the Medical, Dental Undergraduate Education Policy Rules 2023.
The PMDC has said that the result of one province of the MDCAT test will be effective for the entire country; the result of MDCAT will also be effective for Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and GB.

Registrar PMDC has sent a letter to UHS Lahore, Liaquat Medical University Jamshoro, Bolan Medical and Health Sciences University Quetta, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad, and Khyber Medical University Peshawar.
The letter states that provincial government medical universities should start admissions for the session 2024-25.
